if you're mad at somebody who escaped the horrific tragedy of a fire because he wasn't considering you during the emergency, you're twisted & self-centered.

I'm not making any comment on the morality of the actions.

I'm just pointing out that your "He didn't choose his dog over your kid! He just decided to save his dog and leave your kid to die." is the same sentiment reworded.
