With the amount of misleading content you post you really do seem like someone that is being paid to sow discord.

Divert! Throw back ridiculous arguments! Poke at someone else's character!

Anyways, you (or anyone else, really) would never refer to, say, someone who committed fraud or wage theft as "an illegal." No one describes Martha Stewart as "an illegal" for insider trading. We should stop to consider the ways in which our use of language reflects attitudes towards certain groups of people, and why only this particular violation of the law has earned such a label. The law itself just talks about "improper entry," or sometimes "unlawful entry."

And a large chunk of undocumented immigrants haven't even committed that offense; they've overstayed their visas, which is a civil, not criminal, offense.

What's the justification for referring to this group of people as "illegals" as opposed to any other group of offenders?

@Bossdog421 *crickets*

Yup crickets while i was sleeping.

The more generalized term for those mentioned would just be criminals. The term illegal aliens / illegal immigrants has been around for a long time. It's a term describing their status. It is also written directly into law that way. In the "Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986"

Title V: State Assistance for Incarceration Costs of Illegal Aliens and Certain Cuban Nationals - Directs the Attorney General to reimburse States for the costs incurred in incarcerating certain illegal aliens and Cuban nationals convicted of felonies. Authorizes appropriations.

So I agree we should stop using the term illegal immigrant because it was already a term that was used to force the narrative to fit an agenda. We should go back to the term illegal alien. It's got a better ring to it.

Jokes aside... Sorry it offends you but that's on you. We are not going to stop using it because the media brainwashed you into thinking it's offensive.
