I doubt it will be any bigger than when, say, Pope John Paul II died in 2005. He certainly had more global followers as the head of the Catholic church than a figurehead royal family in a comparatively small country.

Don't be fooled by it's small size.

U.S, ,China, UK, Russia, Germany combined run the world

Italy doesn't

The UK being the progenitor of the Anglosphere countries makes the Royals very popular in any English speaking country.

Especially Canada and Australia

At every royal function you get hundreds of Canadian nutters who have flown over to see princess such and such do something dumb
