Fun of play

Which often involves min maxing, because the things I like (generally, rogue and monk types, that are nimble and flashy melee combatants) are some of the most underpowered classes/builds in my game of choice, D&D 3.5.
Plus I have pretty terrible luck w/ dice rolls.

So I optimize in order to play what I like and still be good at my job. When I play a spellcaster, I take it a lot easier on the optimizing, most of those classes are damn powerful w/o even putting in any effort.

Voted option 3, in any case.
