If that logic held water, every Republican congressperson who held office from 2008 to 2016 should have left the country, because those guys did nothing but bitch and complain about the state of things for those years. Trump and the Republicans were the ones who brought up the topic of where these people are from and what right they have to be here, representing the districts who dutifully elected them.
