The cars with higher fuel economy doesn't reduce emissions that much. Plus new cars that get 50 mpg are a lot more expensive than new cars that get 35 mpg, so less people will buy these cars and just stick with older, less safe, less efficient cars. Ah, if that's the case then 50 is a bit optimistic. 40 would be more attainable. Also I don't know why, but I was just reminded of the guy who would daily an F-750* pick-up. Spent 500+ in gas every week.
