Its like El Salvador choosing Justin Trudeau as their president, the guy is never there, doesnt give a fuck about them, and Canada dont even allow Salvadorans to visit there without a visa. Why would Salvador do such a thing?

I honestly don't get it. You do know these places that the Queen is still "The Queen" of are former British owned territories, right? They've been given independence, but still keep her as Queen out of tradition just like her role in Britain, pretty much.
Just a figurehead with no real power, but history/tradition. Of course, some have removed her from that as well, but they remain commonwealth countries regardless.

You have a country with historical ties with another one, who supposedly wants to keep some degree of brotherhood and good relations, to the point they agree to keep her queen so they can symbolically bend the knee and make them look good still. And the other country wont even stop treating them like garbage?
Side question: when the queen dies, what will happen? Will the new king/queen automatically be the monarch of these countries too? Or was that like a one shot?
You know the Queen has no actual power, right? And is largely separate to the government as most people see them. It's to her they look, not our shitty government and prime minister.
She's just a symbolic figure kept out of tradition as "that's what people like" and a part of their history, both good and bad.
And yes, the new monarch will be king of them as well. Which will be great for Britain with new currency.
