She started having problems with her balance in late November/early December, so for a few weeks I asked her to see a doctor. She finally saw one Christmas weekend, and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. They removed it but it cause swelling on her brain and ultimately brain damage. A week later, her doctors said it was cancer that started somewhere in her body but spread to her brain. The brain damage made her unable to walk and she could barely talk. They gave her Chemo but it didn't really help. She wasn't eating so they fed her through a G-Tube but she pulled it out a few days ago. I'm assuming it was because she had given up. Geez, man. Brain cancer always felt like the roughest kind of cancer to me, and this just reinforces that notion. My brother's best friend developed brain cancer a few years back, and before he died they did an operation on one of his lobes and it essentially rendered him unemotional. Like, he couldn't emote at all about anything. To punctuate the situation, his 13 year old son died from a heart attack one afternoon and he couldn't cry. Man, fuck cancer but FUCK brain cancer with a 20 foot stick so much.
