Tell that to fans. Someone else is not entitled to more money because a concept escapes you. I remember an article where a bunch of dumb feminists said that stay-at-home mothers should make as much money as engineers. Not going to happen just because those dumb feminists are morons.

It depends on what you, as a society, value more: children or engineers. A mother works 60+ hours a week or more raising a child; so doesn't that count for something? Children and engineers are both valuable; so why is an engineer more valuable than a child, other than the fact that engineers are usually adults? Is the only time we value someone when we can exploit them for our benefit? That's always been my beef with the 'engineers are more valuable than children' argument. If you don't spend the money on those supposedly 'worthless' children in regard to parenting, teaching, etc., then you don't get those 'valuable' engineers.
