Can I get a tl;dw on why Netflix Death Note fails as an adaptation? I rewatched the anime recently so I'm curious on how its story beats and themes differ.

Do you want a Death Note where:
-light is a legit dumbass. A horny dumbass.
-light's only motivation for being Kira is to get in Mia's pants
-the cat-and-mouse game between L and Light straight up doesnt exist
-L decides the best way to deal with Kira is to pick up a (laser?) gun and chase light on foot through the streets. With no proof.
-ryuk spends the whole movie trying to get light to give up the book and pass it to someone else
-did I mention light is about as smart as a lobotomized goldfish? The dude literally brings the death note to school and tells the first girl who asks exactly what it is and how it works
