California be like "At least we outlawed straws!"

My favorite part about people bashing California (of which there are many valid reasons) for this is that it isnt true. Lawls.

Well they did outlaw plastic bags for the most part. Maybe a restriction would be a better word. Just like how plastic straws are restricted at full service restaurants with SF banning them as well. But hey, they just banned sales vapes recently.

Supporters said the law cuts down on ocean pollution and reliance on disposable plastics.

It is a very small step to make a customer who wants a plastic straw ask for it, wrote Brown, in a signing letter. It might make them pause and think again about an alternative. But one thing is clear, we must find ways to reduce and eventually eliminate single use plastics.

I know theyve been restricted throughout the state, and the cause was to help the oceans.

But why is that worth ridicule? Even if were not a huge contributing factor, we are still a contributing factor and isnt it worth working to make it better?

Or we could just laugh at people trying to make the world a better place at the expense of small inconvieneces. That works too.

Because its laughable that doing something so insignificant will have any real effect on anything. Asia will still dump a unfathomable amount of trash into the oceans with little care at all. Imagine 100 billionaires telling you to ride a bike to work while they jet all over the planet in a private jet? Imagine a famous musician getting a Prius only to have it flown from Japan to the UK on a jet. There by causing the equivalent amount of pollution as driving said car around the earth six times.

Real changes and policy need to be implemented top down and globally. But that won't ever happen. Inconveniencing yourself isn't going to buy this environment another year while a plane flies from Long Beach to LAX. Not using a plastic straw/bag/bottle is not going to save sea turtles when when 1/5th of the world population dumps enough plastic to cover Delaware into the sea every year. (while a a few thousand of those people harvest sea turtles for their shells) The African Elephant won't go extinct because some fat dentist from the Midwest paid 50 grand to shoot a old aggressive elephant. It will go extinct because Li Wei paid Kwame $25 dollars to shoot 20 elephants to sell the ivory to Zhang Yong to make penis pills.

But enough about that. How is your Toxoplasmosis doing these days?
