It is used to dehumanize people and make committing acts that typical people find unfair seem okay, though. I hate hot button terms like this, it stops people from being able to think straight. So does that mean criminal is a slur now? None of them are slurs, but to pretend language can't be used in a specific and tactical way to paint a picture that makes it easier to justify actions that otherwise wouldn't be justified it need to be taken into account.
