When X-2 was released I thought.... hey, a new ATB system this is kind of cool, so this is the direction they will go with, with the next title. Nope, then 12 came out and was imo hot garbage, but that's just me. They have forgotten what brought them to the party in the first place and let someone give them a makeover. It's pretty sad that the best titles they have come out with aren't the ones they have made themselves, but the ones they have funded as a Publisher. For me, personally and I've said this multiple times. The next installment of Final Fantasy has to go back to its roots. And that means: World Map Airships(7/9, not DQ) Moogles(the fat ones, not the Tactic ones), and Chocobos, maybe Moombas Static areas with the only moveable camera on the world maps Action Turn-Based Combat Junction System(Similar to 7 or 9) A simple to understand story that isn't filled with hard to understand terminology Their games are released unfinished, and it needs to stop. I hope they prove me wrong. I hope they announce a new series of games in an older Final Fantasy RPG feel, like Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire and The Legend of Dragoon. But I don't think its going to happen. They have put FF into a box. It's all about being "Open World", which in 15s case meant 99 percent of the world was barren and mobs would only spawn in very small packs if you weren't on a quest. Square is Final Fantasy.
