Topic | Apparently, asking if they have a car is illegal during an interview? |
Prestoff 06/07/19 3:56:43 PM #1: | That's news to me. I just got a complaint from one of the people I interviewed because that was one of the questions I asked. Than PR told me I was suppose to ask it this way,"Do you have a reasonable means of transportation to get to work?" I have an idea who complained about it, because he was the only one that answered: "So what, that shouldn't play a factor if I get hired or not." In my experience, except for those that get dropped off from someone close like their parents/family or bf/gf, those who travel to work through bus, train, or uber have a good track record in coming late to work. We have proof of this, but apparently, it's discriminatory and offensive to ask. So yeah I agree that I probably chose poor use of words there, but I absolutely think it should be a question to be asked during an interview and should definitely play a role in one of the criterias for hiring. --- It's what all true warriors strive for!
