One of the reasons people don't like the death penalty is because lethal injections fail often and the prisoner is left in pain for hours, then doesn't even die. Many consider this cruel and unusual punishment. According to a study out of Amherst College, while lethal injection does has the highest failure rate, only 7% of them have been botched from 1890 to 2010. Ferarri619 posted... electric chair would both be easier methods and would cause death quicker, removing the whole cruel and unusual punishment thing.
