God why does my stomach hurt so bad? Did something happen to my liver? I hope you feel better soon."

"It's alright, I feel better now I have some fresh air."

"What, you're a zombie right?"

"Uh, no. Just wondering..."

The game begins when Riko is taken and she is placed in the player's body. Players must kill enemies in order to get into the game.

A list of enemies and monsters appears on the ground. Riko will attack any enemies that come within 10 meter until the first battle is declared. There are 20 enemies and 16 monsters (excluding the Riko herself) to choose from. Monsters will not stop attacking until they die, so there are multiple opportunities for Riko to kill them before time runs out. The game ends when a monster and Riko are in the "end" and no further enemies are left to be killed.

There is no save system in either Resident Evil 4 or its sequel. There isn't even a save button. Instead, you'll simply have to continue past the various rooms that you have to travel through.

Resident Evil 4 follows the Resident Evil formula. Each room has specific objectives for the player, each being a different threat to the player's survival or something similar. Enemies must be dealt with before they can advance.
