Palpatine possesses her, Finn and friends try to stop her but fails, and Kylo has to come and finish her off before things get too bad. Kylo is defeated and loses an arm, but Rey regains some consciousness from their fight and forces herself to fall from a great height, thus dying via sacrifice.
