for when people stop appearing at work.

For context: a now ex-employee, just stopped appearing at work which is an accounting firm. I tried to text and call her to see what in the world is going on but obviously she never replies. Our HR team tries all kinds of ways to contact her, whether it was through family and what not to see if she was in any form of trouble or any health concerns, unfortunately she didn't leave any emergency numbers for us to contact. So after 2 weeks of no show, we had no choice but assumed she quit. Well she appears out of nowhere on the 3rd week and starts yelling at the receptionists. I come out and see what the commotion was and was surprised to see her. She then yells at me for assuming she quit and when I asked her why she wasn't replying to the text or didn't bother to call into work at all, she says "because I wasn't in the right emotional state to do so. Anyone with common sense or social cues would've known that." Security came in and escorted her out, but now my "business" twitter account is filled with users saying how it's unfair she got fired (apparently she has a pretty big following). A lot of them telling me how it's normal and apparently not "unpolite" to ghost employees and how I was in the wrong for assuming she quit.

I'm really at a lost for words, like I think I'm living in a Poe's Law world. Unfortunately the firm I work at is preventing me to respond to these idiots on my business account (because of company policy). It's kind of unreal really, and even now I still have no idea why she ghosted.

Well enough of blogfaqs/dramafaqs, ghosting when it comes to business (IMO) should always be considered unprofessional and rude.
