Not at the end I don't think, but earlier in the game he got a daily double and didn't make it a true daily double.

If the had bet all his money instead of just $6K, all other things being equal, Nate would've had a $2000 lead going into final.

Casual viewers don't really care or take into account wagering strategies and that the closeness of the final scores isn't really indicative of how close a game really was. Nate's $10K final jeopardy bet made sense because, knowing James is almost certainly going to bet enough to guarantee a victory with a correct response, his wager allows him to win if James misses whether or not he gets it right himself. Whereas if he risks it all, he ends up with a closer score and a bigger payday if he wins, but then he also has to get it right to have a chance.
