I don't know why they're being equated ITT, though. any term can be used in a derogatory way if that's the intent. but when people try banning the usage of words based only on "it hurts people's feelings," we hit a slippery slope.. like here on GameFAQs. where calling out a racist for their overt racism is considered worse than actually being racist. --- Never let those intent on misunderstanding you be the narrator to YOUR story!
