Only people who think so are the people who have no fucking clue what common core is.


You mean like pretty much all the math teachers nationwide who have been fighting it?


Even if that were an accurate depiction of what was going on, and I don't think it is, it would be natural to react negatively to anyone trying to mandate goals on your job performance.


I literally sat in on a meeting where district staff were explaining common core math. They said now if a kid says 2 + 2 = 3, thats okay, as long as they can show justification for how they got there. The entire math section got up in unison and walked out. Im sure that response wasnt exclusive to my district.


There's nothing so universal in the common core standards. Have you ever actually given them a skim?
