Do you feel the same about a woman giving up parental rights without any legal obligations post-birth? Like if she wanted to dump the kid on the dad and peace out? Yeah I would not be okay with that. The rare deadbeat mom is equally shitty. I do appreciate the consistency. It does happen. I once dated a woman (if you could call her that) with a kid. The dad was a deadbeat who actually confided to me how much he respected me stepping up to the plate. The kid's mom was there throughout the time we were together but after we split, she basically left the child with his grandmother (the father's mom) while she left for Florida, where she currently resides. That's sad. I hope she was made to pay child support too. One of my cousins is like that. She has 3 kids of different ages who all ended up scattered to the winds, with different relatives. 1 is with his dad and step-mom, 1 goes back and forth between her dad, (eventually confirmed that she's someone else's kid, but he's not a heartless shit like my cousin is,) and her aunt who is filing for custody.
