if the cult is gonna follow 45 as much as they do. then i want ONLY sons and daughters of republican voters thrown into that meat grinder. Iran would wreck our shit, and the public will turn when endless red state caskets come home. they all foam at the mouth for this, so lets see them strap up and go first.

Nah, the U.S. would blow Iran out of the water, although they'll put up a stiffer fight than Iraq. The occupation afterwards might be a quagmire though.

*Might*? Iran has several times the population of Iraq, with lots of rugged mountainous terrain(in which most of the major cities are located!), and the odd jungle. There are no serious ethnic divisions, religious differences or political factions that would ease the process. Persia historically assimilates conquerors or becomes their graveyard. It would make Iraq and Afghanistan look like Grenada.

I don't disagree with that, but at the same time Iran does not have a plethora of experience in waging unconventional warfare like the Taliban or Al-Qaeda did. Further, Iran is more developed infrastructurally which would make the occupation an easier task logistically, and Iranians would probably be more accepting of the type of secular democratic government the U.S. would probably try to implement compared to Afghanistan or Iraq.

At the end of the day it is unknown how it would play out, and I hope it stays that way.
