Having the dragon be able to do that wasn't bad writing.... it just was so visually jarring to me because it was entirely inconsistent with the lore, what I felt the shows had previously shown, and the force that would create on the dragon makes no sense. Like.... if it can shoot a projectile that strong, that means the dragon can handle the recoil. If it just cuts castles in half.... the recoil alone would be WAY more powerful than what those ballistas could do. Like, maybe I'm just a physics nerd, but its always really jarring when physics makes no sense with out an establishing scene. If there's going to be crazy magic or sci fi tech please have a scene or a line somewhere to establish it in the lore. Like how they established the ballistas would work by shooting a dragon skull. Good establishing scene for some sort of unexpected answer to dragons. --- Conformity and rebellion...both ways are simple-minded--they are only for people who cannot cope with contradiction and ambiguity. ...
