| Topic | Blowing on NES cartridges literally did nothing, and arguably made things worse |
| Robot2600 05/13/19 12:47:37 PM #12: | It wasn't b/c they didnt want kids using rubbing alcohol, it was so people thought they had to buy the official Nintendo cleaning kits for $15. Also: blowing on the carts can dislodge dust. Water doesn't corrode the game connectors either (i.e. it's perfectly safe to blow into a cartridge game). The most effective way to clean games is 91% isopropyl alcohol + qtips. You can also use ammonia-based cleaning solvents, i.e. Windex. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
