If you were looking for anything more than ass kicking violence and snappy one liners from any 80s movie then you are watching the movie wrong. There is a reason there were so many classics to come out of the 80s. They didnt try to add dorky explanations for plot devices that were just there to move the plot along in between violence and ass kicking.
Uhhh, that sounds like some shitty justification for terrible writing
