There shouldnt be, but the fact of the matter there is. And insulting and mocking the other side is just going to push them farther back. If you want to win people over and convince them vaccines are good, you cant insult them. Show some compassion. Youre a physician.

They have all the information at their fingertips. They have historic records. If somebody plugs their ears and goes LALALALALA to proven science, they deserve all the ridicule they get.

And I feel thats exactly why well never win them over. Some people cant be won over instantly. Some need time. And if were kind, compassionate, and patient, I feel well be more likely to convince them. When has mocking someone ever convinced then of your side on things?

Except that's just the thing - the evidence has shown that this actually emboldens them. Patiently explaining science to them REINFORCES the opinions they have, even when it directly refutes their beliefs.

They're driven by a blind-leading-the-blind mentality of a small, tight-knit community of meme-sharing, mostly homeschooled unemployed parents who believe academia is out to get them, that elitists are trying to rule the world, etc.

No conspiracy theory is considered too ridiculous to them. An astonishing number of them actually believe vaccines were designed as a hidden eugenics plot.
