Huh? Gods make for great villains.

Tell that to RPGS where gods are usually the villains.

those are gods, made by the rpg or often outdated and no longer worshipped.

But Sam and Dean are trying to kill God, man/entity who made and controls the entire universe.

So? Just because it is based on primarily judeo Christian mythology doesnt mean they have to follow it to be aligned with your beliefs. Its entertainment. FYI/ the source material also is presented in several different ways across all the source materials and then even more varied in different groups interpretation of it.

I see no problem with it any more than any other use of the judeo christian god or any other god or mythology in any other entertainment media.

Yes and as the person writing this topic, I am giving my opinions.

wasn't God technically villainous in the Jewish bible, he wasn't anything like what Christianity portrays him to be, ok?

besides, God having human like faults makes him more likable, and believable from a story perspective, ok?

Not really. God takes a harsh action against sin in the Bible, Jewish and Christian, but he isnt villainous. Hes facing off against s greater threat (allowing sin to thrive is evil and would corrupt and condemn all of humanity) thats true for both Jewish and Christian faiths.

Difference is Jewish faith believes God will take actions as harsh if they arent careful.
Christians believe that price is paid and we now do good to please God, not because we are fighting sin to save our souls
