It's success is the exact reason we got the fucking horseshit that was 5 and 6. Thankfully people finally stopped caring about "OMG DA INNOVATION" and realized that that style of game is fucking boring and repetitive as hell. Also it's the easiest game I've ever played on a hard difficult setting. Seriously there is NO skill needed to make it through that game, especially compared to the early RE's that actually made you think about your actions. No need to conserve ammo, there's fucking plentiful. Ditto with health. RE4 was designed for the stoned or drunk college student who wanted to sit there and zone out and play a mindless shooter that had elements of "survival horror".
