It's not as good as it gets credit for. Guy Ritchie does that sort of thing much better.

It was honestly one of the most generic, boring crime/thriller movies I've seen in my entire life, which bugged me because it's Matthew Vaughn's directorial debut and it's the complete opposite of what you'd expect from a Matthew Vaughn movie nowadays.
Hell, speaking of Guy Ritchie, Matthew Vaughn produced Lock, Stock and Snatch and I'm sure he was the reason those movies were as stylish as they were as his latter films feel more like they're in tuned with those than Ritchie's.

I like to consider Stardust his real directorial debut.
