I'm watching the show again for a second time right at the last few episodes. Some notes:

I enjoy Season 9 way more the second time. With my expectations set appropriately I can really enjoy the one off storylines of Season 9 and focus way less on looking forward to Ted and Mother, which we never got a lot of.

I still fucking hate that Season 9 is crammed into one tiny weekend, and then the final episode is like 30 years of explosive content. This content really should have been the full season to begin with, and the wedding weekend should have been one episode.

I really, really hate we didn't get to see the character development and growth of Ted and Mother. The flashback to their first date really showed a different, calm, cautious Ted that we've never seen before and based on the few flashbacks to them together we do get, they would have gotten into a lot of fun trouble, that I feel the audience really missed out on.
