Serious question: is the average trump voter that racist?

Just reading the consequences that these heroes (SEAL team) will face makes me angry. Yet the support our armed forces people dont give a s*** about this apparently simply because a guy who feels about race the way they do did it.

you have single issue voters who just want tax cuts/pro-business policy that cringe at his actions but arent going to oppose him (30%+ of all republicans, basically the koch wing of the party)

you have foreign policy hawks, who would hate this (10-15% of republicans, max. dying breed)

and you have the christian conservatives who obviously dont actually care about jesus or they wouldnt have ever backed trump and are using it as a cover for racism, and the actual racists who dont try to hide it

so i guess half-ish.

my best friend is a hawk and strong conservative from fiscal conservative perspective, and he hates trump but begrudgingly voted for him. we can talk about politics in part because we can both see that trump's actions are a mix of insane bullshit and obviously political moves that lack empathy for americans. he will still vote R but supports a primary challenger in 2020. rational viewpoint.
