Topic	One piece of dialogue in Fellowship of the Ring I dont get (spoilers)

Hell, at the time Bilbo found the ring it had been missing for nearly 3000 years. It wasn't until after Gollums capture (and release/escape) from Mordor that he started investigating more and going through all the scrolls in Minas Tirith. Even more so because he wasn't the "expert" of their group regarding the Rings of Power.
