fft is inferior to both ffta games in every way

ffta > ffta2 >>>>>>>>>>> fft

The Advance games, while still great, are way too restrictive. You end up playing them the same way each time because so many jobs and abilities are gated to plot progression.

I tried replaying A2 recently and it was like...I'm doing exactly what I was doing last time I played. Unlock Green Mage after one or two story battles. Unlock the Counter ability once Adele joins, the ability to mass-purchase Chainmail before the Flowsand Lord. At least the auction house gives you shit that lets you get better things early on, but even then a bunch of classes and two entire fucking races are gated to when you reach far enough.

If I want to make a jumping Ninja and a singing Mediator to invite foes to my team and charm them, I can do that before reaching the third plot battle in FFT. In fact, I can do literally fucking everything before then. The only two moves I can't get in chapter 1 are Zodiac and Ultima, everything else is fair game. If I wanna rush right to Flare or Holy or Bahamut, I can do that right away if I so choose. The game is my bitch and I do what I want with it.

Tying abilities to weapons and making some classes unlockable is just tedious. What's more, splitting classes between races just means you'll never be able to combine some classes. You can't have a Gunner/Gladiator build because one of those jobs is exclusive to Moogles and the other Bangaas. Why? What's the point of gating our progression like that? Why can't I fucking do what I want?
