The Texan economy is more vulnerable than California because Texas depends quite a bit on the oil industry and the oil industry is volatile. Newer tech and methods of extraction and recent tax cuts gives Texas a huge advantage in the global market. So now the rest of the world is scrambling to catch up and unfortunately they will.
