I've already answered. At least half of the 3D Zelda series is divisive at best.

Even if that's the case (I haven't played enough 3D Zelda's to say one way or the other), that just means the follow ups weren't as successful. The actual transition to 3D gaming was wildly successful, and even though OoT has aged poorly it's still regarded as one of the greatest games ever.

Edit: I just thought of MGS after I hit post, that definitely deserves to be in the conversation.

If that's what we're basing this on then it's probably still Mario. I see way more people saying OoT has aged poorly. They both have camera issues but OoT has more issues in general than SM64 that make it harder to go back to.

I agree about Metal Gear, though. MG2 to MGS was a really fluid transition.

It's just how I'm basing it, given how I'm interpreting "transition." It's been 20+ years since we transitioned to 3D and so many of these series are still around that's too much room for missteps later on. If I just look at the transition games themselves it makes the conversation easier to have without muddying it down with crap like Skyward Sword that came out or *shudders* Metal Gear Survive that came out 2 decades later.
