I feel like most people arent acually against the idea of better controlled migration. I feel as though the support for the wall is because it's the idea pushed by a politician to address immigration, no matter how poorly thought out it is. People don't take kindly to people they don't know (bonus points if they don't look like them) coming to move in next door en masse. I think the bigger problem is that this mass immigration is result of the instability in their respective countries and the media has taken no steps to inform the public on why there is so much instability.
