Start with calorie control or QUANTITY. Then when you start to see results from that work on the macros -- ratios or totals of carbs/fats/proteins and shit like that (QUALITY). The big picture is to get a calorie deficit going -- eating less than what your body needs to be maintain its fatso status. This is hard to do over the long term because your brain is trying to fuck you on this. Your brain is used to being attached to a fatso body so its wants to trick you into thinking you need to eat like a fatso because it thinks anytime you aren't being a fatso you are starving and going to die. Thats your brain's bull shit though so just tell it to fuck off.

You should be lifting to get jacked. You will burn calories and cultivate muscle mass. Both of those things will help you become less fatty.
