At this point the current 4Runner has been on the market for 9 years... its a little... old. Not only that, the price keeps creeping up. Essentially the engine is not much different than the 2003 model and the transmission was introduced in 2005. You're paying more each year for older and older tech. Oddly enough, the newer ones also feel smaller inside... its like they beefed the body up at the expense of passenger room. That being said I think they've done a great job at keeping a successful blueprint. An off-road capable and comfortable body-on-frame SUV.
