The fear over widespread automation is always the same, and it goes back hundreds if not thousands of years.

"We're gonna lose our jobs! Half of society will become unemployed overnight!"

"Automation has happened before, but never like THIS! This time it's going to be different!"

Guess what, no matter how much stuff we are producing in the economy, we can produce more. We can keep adding value to products and services. That's why the economy manages to still keep trucking along every time machines replace people. The machines replace the people, and now business owners can hire people to do something else to add value that machines currently aren't capable of doing. That way businesses have the machines doing everything that was being done before PLUS the benefit of humans doing a little more. So not only are humans still being employed in that situation, but the products/services they are offering are getting better, too. the That's why automation is win-win for society.

It reaches and end point eventually. And we are at that end point.

The only response at this point is to pay people large sums of money to sit around and waste oxygen
