Actually he was giving those slaves by his father in law and supposedly never bought a single one, and he didn't let them just go because then they would have been caught , he also had Elizabeth hemming buried next to him cause he saw her as family. He also started the great U.S. navy we have today


I think you're confusing Jefferson with John Adam's regarding the part about the Navy.
