The economic illiteracy is strong in the opening post. Automation kills off jobs that are no longer necessary and opens the path up for more jobs so resources can be allocated elsewhere. It is no ones fault but your own if you cant find one. This whole pro-protectionist technology is bad fear mongering is straight out the playbook of a century ago when losers in the ice box industry cried about how the refrigerator rightfully killed off their now obsolete jobs. It was bad enough when it was just leftists that spewed this bs, we also now have rightists like Tucker Carlson advocating for protectionist policies against automation with economically illiterate feelings and good intentions.

Productive people should not be forced to subsidize others. This applies to your various current programs that already exist in the United States and UBI.
