Speaking form personal frustration: how about we take some different steps. Let's get some people that may be better off out of the labor force by offering them comfortable living income. The disabled, people suffering from burnout, people getting up in years, there are a lot of people still working because social programs offer poverty at best, and they are likely the ones most hit by automation changes.

Let's not give everyone free money just yet. Let's start by offering a decent standard of living to those not best able to do so themselves.
