What do you mean by anti-climax? I'm not really sure what that's referring to.

You set the arc up to be resolved with a certain fight or resolution and in the end solve it with a far less flashy or epic way, usually with the characters going "meh" and just leaving.

It's fun every once in a while, but in HxH it happens almost every arc, sometimes more than once per arc. Feels like the entire manga is building up to something that never happens.

Thats a pretty valid point, and they do pull the switcheroo quite often.

However, for me personally, they knew when to do it and when not to. The ending of the Hunters arc blew my mind and made me realize anything could happen which really pulled me in further ( I was won over by episode 6)

However, I would have been pissed if I never got Ant King vs Netero and Gon vs Pitou and I got exactly those in all their glory.

I also loved the surprise earlier matchup of Hisoka vs Gon in the Nen arc.

I know the show ended at a good point and the manga has been kind of boring since, but all I really want is the show returns is one final Gon vs Hisoka.
