The more anime I watch though, the more I appreciate how Hunter X Hunter cracked my top 5.

Anime Ive watched for the first time in the past year ranked:

1. Hunter X Hunter
2. Assassination Classroom
3. Gurren Lagann
4. Steins;Gate
5. Kill La Kill (pending)

I also watched The Boy and the Beast and loved that.

Wow it's pretty similar to my overall rankings.

I think mine goes like this

1- One Piece
2- Fullmetal Alchemist
3- TTGL
4- Steins;Gate
5- 20th Century Boys
6- Assassination Classroom

Then I dont remember. Probably some point combination of death note, code geass, Hero Academia and a few others.

I think HxH is massively overrated.
