| Romulox28 12/17/18 4:01:07 PM #5: | what you have to remember about mario 64 is that there was basically no precedent for anything that it did. instead of just directly translating a 2d platformer to a 3d space (like crash bandicoot), nintendo completely reinvented the wheel with mario 64. when you look at it conceptually, side-by-side with something like super mario world, the way you play those two games is almost completely different. everything about mario 64 is inventive & groundbreaking, and besides Zelda on the NES, i honestly cant think of another game that had the level of impact mario 64 had. --- ...
