Pretty good year for gaming. People like to meme that switch had a bad year but really the only significant difference is like 1-2 less AAA and maybe a couple less good AA first party games, but a higher amount of third parties. Its not that 2018 was bad. 2017 just had a steady stream of big hits. Nintendo gotta recharge before having another possibly even more amazing year in 2019. Seriously 2017 Switch was Splatoon 2 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe BOTW Mario Odyssey ARMS Mario Vs Rabbids Xenoblade 2 Fire Emblem Warriors Pokken Tournament DX Snipperclippers Super Bomberman R Steamworld Dig 2 Fast RMX Ultra Street Fighter ll Overcooked Resident Evil Revelations Collection Outlast Skyrim Doom Rocket League FIFA Lotsa other ports and indies Etc. 2018 Switch has been.. Super Smash Bros Ultimate Pokmon Lets Go Super Mario Party Kirby Star Allies Captain Toad Mario Tennis Aces DK Tropical Freeze Hyrule Warriors Definitive Xenoblade 2 Torna The Golden Country Katamari Damacy Reroll Octopath Traveler Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Overcooked 2 Fortnite Hollow Knight Celeste Warframe Dragon Ball FighterZ Starlink Megaman 11 Valkyria Chronicles 4 Outlast 1 & 2 Runner 3 Fifa Wolfenstein YSVIII Dark Souls Remastered Lotsa other ports and indies Etc. Meanwhile PS4 had several megahits. Spider Man, God of War, Monster Hunter World, Red Dead Redemption 4 etc. 3DS had a pretty solid release lineup for a 7 year old system with a successor already out.
