You do realize under the hippo ratio oath that all who are ill must be treated regardless of their income, right? I realize things are more nuanced than this, but just wanted to check since you claim poor people in the south will never see a hospital bed.

Okay, and how does a poor person with no job, no insurance, and cancer seek treatment in the US?

Go to hospital? They cant deny service even if you cant pay.

They can financially ruin you. Debt collectors calling your phone and harassing you at home. People in this country have declared bankruptcy over medical bills and that isnt right.

They already dont have a job, and bankruptcy isnt as bad as it sounds.

"Just declare bankruptcy so you don't die!"

Do you understand how utterly heartless and clueless that sounds?

I dont mean to sound heartless but you said a person with no job or insurance with cancer. Is a person with no job really worried about their financial situation? Get the treatment bankrupt and heck look for a job once better.

For the record I have no job, I have no insurance, and heck I have been told I have signs I may have cancer. If I cared to get treated I wouldnt worry about claiming bankruptcy. Or heck just dont pay them as lets see them get it from someone with no job or income.

Also there are organizations that can help people that want it to get treatment even without insurance.
