The $2.159 rounds up to $2.16 because there are no smaller demoninations, or down to $2.15 here in Canada when using cash. I have a gas receipt in front of me. 35.945L x $1.099/L = $39.50355. Rounds down to $39.50. If I could magically pump exactly 1L I would be charged $1.10.
