However during his rule he would create a private army/harem known as the Brides of the Emperor by exploiting a loophole regarding a rule which states that the ecclesiarch cannot have "men under arms". Eventually the Captain General of the Adeptus Custodes would expose Vandire's heresy to the head of the Brides known as Alicia Dominica. She would then go on to execute Vandire herself.
